Father's Day 2008

Maryn with her three favorite dudes: Dad (aka Papa Dean), Grandpa Tom and Grandpa Jeff

Uncle Kelly made Maryn all smiles with his Donald Duck impersonation.

Maryn loves Father's Day!

Somebody partied a little too hard.

We spent Dean's first Father's Day at Marley's dad's house in Fort Collins. He and Penny cooked up a delicious spread of appetizers and bbq lunch. We celebrated with an abundance of margaritas, frisbee golf, and lounging in the sun. Maryn celebrated by having the largest explosive dooker she's had to date. What a mess! So much for the cute dress!

Beautiful Day for a Hike

On Saturday the whole crew hiked South Mesa's Homestead and Towhee trails, just out of Eldorado Springs. What gorgeous day--only 70 degrees. Maryn was so wiped out from the hike she slept for 6 hours again last night!

Smile!

Maryn is now 8 weeks old. We can hardly believe almost two months has passed by already! She continues to want to eat often and fight napping even more often. She LOVES being outside, watching musicals, doing yoga with mom, getting licked by Kisha, bouncing on the bouny ball while mom types one handed, and flying high in the air when daddy is playing with her.

Maryn's Adventures in Moab

Maryn in her tent given to her by Tom and Kristin.
Smootch!

What more does a dude need than a baby and his coffee?

Memorial Day 2008--Taking a 6-week-old camping in the desert proved to be a fun, and challenging, adventure. Maryn rode in the front of Dean's truck while I sat in the back since her car seat doesn't fit in the extended cab of the Toyota. She traveled like a champ! Getting in and out of a small tent with a newborn was interesting (I tried to limit my swaring to a minimum each time we crawled in and out of the tent). Maryn can claim that in her first 6 weeks of life, she has visited Arches National Park, hiked through her first canyon, had her diaper changed in some pretty cool places (a tent, in the sand, in the back of the truck, in the front seat of the truck, and on the lawn in front of McDonalds in Vail). Her booty has definately seen a lot in just a few short weeks!

Maryn got to meet her uncle Ken, aunt Kelly and cousins Kolten, Kollen and Kaden for the first time. We were also joined by many of our friends and their kids. In fact, six children were under the age of 1!
